Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays? Why not both?

It is December and we hear so much about the “War on Christmas.” Some people are offended when someone says “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” and believe that ours is the only holiday to be celebrated.

Let’s stop for a minute and think this through.  The word “holiday” is actually an abbreviation of the phrase “holy day” and the times from mid-October through February hold “holy days” for many different denominations and religions.  This truly IS the most wonderfully Holy time of the year.  There are at least 20 different Holy Days from October through February.  Let’s look at some of the Holy Days that are being celebrated.
