Dennis Hanson, age 88 of Walnut Grove, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Our House Hospice of Murray County in Slayton.  Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15 at English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.  Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at

    Class of 2019 receives Bank Midwest savings account

    Bank Midwest began a Teaching Students About Money program in 2001. The program was introduced to the Class of 2019 when they were first graders. At that time, they were presented with a gift of a $300 savings account from Bank Midwest, which grew with the students through their senior year.

    City is developing ATV use rules

    WESTBROOK — At the last city council meeting a first reading of the proposed ordinance changes for side-by-side and other ATV’s was read. The rules for operation of ATV type vehicles including trail bikes, mini-bikes, and amphibious vehicles is spelled out in an ordinance amendment pertaining to operation of these vehicles within the city of Westbrook.

    Remembering the Past, Looking to the Future

    Graduation Day—June 2, 2019—for 21 WWG graduates enabled them a time to recall their past and especially via the video compiled by Skylar Swenhaugen, Grace Woelber, Brittany Erickson, and Talitha Horkey. The video began with graduation photos and photos from their early years. The remainder of the video captured school memories starting with kindergarten and ending with the senior class trip to Washington, D.C.
