Judy Boe, age 78 of Owatonna, formerly of Walnut grove, passed away February 16, 2019 at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20 at the Walnut Grove Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Homestead Hospice House, 2350 NW 26th St. Owatonna, MN 55060.     Walnut Grove Area Foundation Grant recipients announced

    The Walnut Grove Area Foundation received 6 grant applications this year for their annual grant selection process. Grants were due on February 5 and become available to local organizations in the fall on an annual basis. Grant requests received for this grant cycle totaled nearly $17,000.

    First Robotics 2019, Team 5991

    Industrial Technology teacher for Westbrook Walnut Grove, Doug Lee, is again coaching the WWG Robotics Team for the 2018-2019 school year.  The team will go to competition in Duluth from March 7th through the 10th. Eight students in 8th through 12th grade comprise the team.. Five mentors this year are Doug Kleeberger, Bruce Byers, Craig Carter, Doug Lee and Lori Lee. During late evening work sessions, various families feed the team to give them an added burst of energy.
